Challenging yet achievable, structured yet creative, fitting with the organisation’s culture yet personal and all delivered with energy, understanding and a sense of fun. That’s my definition of personal development. Harnessing my passion for women’s development coupled with this definition and you can see why I trained to become a licenced Springboard trainer. Helping women to get from where they are to where they want to be is a great privilege.

I stepped into freelance development in 2009 building on my experience as a trainer, facilitator and course developer after being Head of Academic Practice at the University of Cambridge. My background as a postdoctoral MRI physicist provided me with the credibility to work with those in higher education settings but it is the transferrable skills developed during that time that allow me to work with a wide variety of clients, understand their needs and provide creative development solutions.

My clients range from large research intensive universities to children’s centres. For the past three years my business has had an international dimension working with A*STAR in Singapore and CWI in Amsterdam. Alongside offering Springboard, I am an expert in tailoring development solutions and I welcome enquiries from clients with problems to solve. My programmes include time management, career development, introduction to management, exploring team roles using Belbin, assertiveness and professional confidence.

I bring my wide range of life experiences into the Springboard training room. As a business woman, a researcher, a mother of three, a school governor and a visual thinker I hope to understand and connect with the many different women in a variety of situations who come to Springboard.
