This workshop offers practical advice on removing the barriers that are preventing all minorities’ from progressing in the workplace. We will explore how best to promote a more diverse workforce and how to encourage positive culture change at all levels within your organisation.

Under-representation of Minorities including BAME, LGBT+, socio-economic group representation, disability and religion is still high in UK workplaces.

With organisations now having to report their gender pay and being pushed to publish their ethnicity pay gap data, positive action needs to be taken to address the disparities that exist.

This workshop addresses the challenges and issues faced by women securing their first managerial role.  We will explore ways your organisation can positively remove this barrier and help to overcome these issues.

According to new research by McKinsey and LeanIn.Org, the biggest obstacle to women’s progression and therefore improving the gender pay gap at work, is the “broken rung”, as men are far more likely than women to be promoted from their entry-level jobs to manager. This early inequity also explains why they are a fewer women at senior levels of management—women just can’t catch up.

This workshop helps you discover and communicate your unique ‘Personal Brand’ and identify your values. It includes exploring what a ‘brand’ is, what sets you apart and the image you want to present vs the image you actually present.

You will gain the tools and techniques to effectively communicate your brand verbally and face to face whilst identifying opportunities to maximise your visibility.

Assertiveness – Making an Impact

This workshop will enable you to learn and practice the key skills and techniques of assertive communication to build your confidence in order to be more assertive in your work and personal life.

It includes exploring your current assertiveness agenda, recognising the spectrum of behaviour, setting boundaries and expectations and dealing with assumptions and conflict.

You will learn to recognise and overcome the barriers to assertive behaviour, the effective use of verbal and non-verbal language, saying no, getting heard in meetings and giving and receiving compliments and criticism.

Improve your resilience and wellbeing

This workshop empowers individuals to take ownership of their own resilience and wellbeing. It explores what resilience is, why it is important, what supports and undermines it and the effect of default behaviours and reactions.

We also explore patterns of behaviours, emotional reactions and introduce practical tools and techniques to help build your own resilience levels to effectively manage stress.

This workshop focusses on finding practical ways to raise your profile in and out of your organisation.  You will understand the importance of promoting yourself, maximising your visibility, building your self-belief and identifying your unique selling points to make you stand out from the crowd.

You will also explore who your key supporters are in your profile-raising journey plus how to overcome the barriers you may face along the way from those less supportive colleagues.

‘Next Steps’ for returners

  • Duration – 1 full day

This workshop focuses on those people returning to work after a career break, maternity/paternity leave, a period of illness, carers leave, redundancy or simply a change of personal circumstances.

You will have the opportunity to rediscover your priorities and values, review your skills and qualities, build your self-esteem and confidence and get a renewed sense of what you can offer to enable you to consider ‘next step’ career choices.

We also explore your relationship with work and others, dealing with change and enable you to set practical and clear goals as to the right way forward for you to successfully relaunch yourself into the workplace.

Emotional Intelligence

This workshop will provide you with an introduction to Emotional Intelligence enabling you to be more positive, confident and effective in your work/personal life.

You will learn the core skills of emotional intelligence, gain a greater self-awareness of your strengths and emotional triggers, along with understanding how to manage your emotional reactions.

Also you will gain skills to deal with limiting beliefs and how to overcome these using practical tools and techniques such as positive self-talk and mindfulness.

The Authentic you as a Leader
