The Wheel of Life EXERCISE & Development Tool

A simple reflection tool to help you pause, take stock and set meaningful intentions.

International Women’s Day often creates a moment to pause and reflect – not only on progress collectively, but on where we are in our own lives and careers.

One of the tools used within the Springboard Women’s Development Programme to support this kind of reflection is the Wheel of Life.

It’s a simple but powerful exercise that helps you step back and look at different areas of your life, such as personal growth, wellbeing, relationships, career and finances and consider how satisfied you feel in each one right now.

By scoring and shading each segment of the wheel, you create a visual snapshot of how things feel at this moment in time. For many people, this quickly highlights patterns or areas they may want to give more attention to – and sometimes reveals surprises and space to think about things that haven’t been explored for a while.

Taking Reflection Further

Exercises like the Wheel of Life are often used within coaching and personal development programmes because they create space for reflection and help people turn insight into action.

But keeping in the theme of International Women’s Day our popular Springboard Women’s Development Programme provides space for participants take their reflection further through a structured series of workshops and practical tools, where our programme helps women step back from day-to-day pressures, clarify what matters most to them, and translate insight into meaningful action in both their personal and professional lives.
