Celebrating Women’s Success: South Wales Police Win the Princess Royal Training Awards 2024 with their initiatives to support women’s development including the Springboard programme

“At Springboard Consultancy, we are delighted to celebrate the incredible achievement of South Wales Police, who have been honoured with the prestigious Princess Royal Training Award 2024.

This recognition is a testament to their commitment their people, in particular their women, various initiatives including our Springboard Work & Personal Development Programme which they are licensed to deliver in house. Therefore, we are immensely proud to have played a role in their journey and share this fantastic news.

The Princess Royal Training Awards, established by HRH The Princess Royal and City and Guilds, recognise organisations that demonstrate exceptional employee training and development programmes.

These awards are not just a badge of honour but a reflection of a deep commitment to fostering talent and embracing diversity within an organisation.

Here is a snippet of the award win, which was for increasing female representation through research-led training:

“South Wales Police created the Springboard training programme to increase female representation across all ranks. The four-day blended programme focuses on behavioural and attitudinal factors as research indicated this is what was causing barriers to women in applying for promotions. Of the 145 officers who have participated, 97 have been promoted since attending, and 37% of officers are now female compared to a previous 27.9%.”

“While SWP has been proactive in championing women through various initiatives, we are especially proud of the significant programme that the Springboard Women’s Development has made – 97 promotions from 145 officers who have participated so far is simply incredible.

We would personally like to recognise the amazing Springboard licensed facilitators at SWP, Julanne Jones and Joanne Jenkins. We couldn’t be prouder of their dedication to delivering top-quality programmes, with a 100% recommendation rate from their participants.”

A Shared Achievement

Winning the Princess Royal Training Award is a milestone that belongs to everyone involved. We congratulate South Wales Police for their dedicated to support gender diversity and their commitment to nurturing their women. Their success is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of their entire team, including Springboard licensed trainers Joanne Jenkins and Julanne Guinee who are just incredible at what they do. Here’s one participant testimonial that really highlights this:

“The passion both Jo and Julanne have whilst delivering the workshops is second to none. It is clear how strong they feel about this programme and that comes across in their delivery. The professional relationship they have also comes across and they both know exactly what each one is doing and when. I could think of two nicer women to deliver such a course, and it was a pleasure to have completed it”

For us at Springboard, this achievement reinforces our belief in the power of collaboration and outcome focussed development programmes that support men and women in all stages of their life and career. We are proud to have contributed to South Wales Police’s success and look forward to continuing our relationship as they look to license more trainers in future.
